“Happy New Year”, a glitzy and grand cinematic spectacle directed by Farah Khan and shot at the iconic Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai, set the box office on fire with its staggering collection of Rs 4,080 million. The film, which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and Boman Irani, tells the story of a team of losers who plan a heist to steal a diamond from a heavily guarded location in Dubai. The romantic drama directed by Rohit Shetty saw the return of the iconic on-screen couple Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Fans eagerly thronged to theatres to relive the magic of their favourite couple from the 2000s classics. The film also starred Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon and raked in Rs 4,000 million at the box office. The story revolves around the reunion of two estranged lovers and how their past still haunts them. It is a roller coaster ride of emotions, action and love.

4) Ra.One (2011)

“Ra.One” was a game changer in Bollywood, the film broke the record for the highest budget for a Bollywood film at the time of its release, the film’s special effects and action scenes, which starred Shahrukh Khan, helped drive its success. The story of the film revolves around a gaming programmer who creates a motion sensor-based game, in which the villain (Ra.One) becomes more powerful than the hero (G.One) and how G.One comes to life to protect his son. The film’s unparalleled visual effects, thrilling action sequences and powerful performance by Shah Rukh Khan made it a blockbuster hit and grossed around Rs. 208 crores at the box office.

5) My Name Is Khan (2010)

The movie directed by Karan Johar, is a film that touched hearts and broke records. The film starred Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, in which he played the character of Rizwan Khan, a man with Asperger’s Syndrome, who sets out on a cross-country journey in the United States, to speak with their President. It broke the record for the highest opening day collection for a Hindi film in the overseas market and grossed Rs2,850 million. Critics and audiences alike praised Shah Rukh Khan’s nuanced performance and the film’s emotional depth, making it a box office hit.
