10 Movies To Look Out For In The First Half Of the Year In 2023

The OTT platforms give us the chance to sit, relax and watch our favourite movies but, nothing can beat the thrill and experience of watching our favourite stars on the big screen. While there are a lot of exciting movies coming out this year, we’ve put together a list of movies that have already been announced. While many of these movies will arrive in theatres in 2023, some of their release dates are still being finalised, but a short wait is about to be worthwhile.

1) Pathaan

Shah Rukh Khan makes a comeback on screen after four long years and his fans going haywire to watch his upcoming film ‘Pathaan’. The incredible cast, which includes Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, is one of the reasons to watch this action film. Siddharth Anand, known for films such as ‘War’ has directed the film. Some exciting cameo also await from the YRF Spy universe. The plot revolves around an agent who battles adversarial powers attempting to destabilise India.

Release Date: 25 January

2) Shehzada

Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon reunite for this film after working together on ‘Luka Chuppi’. ‘Shehzada’ is the official Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, starring Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde. Kartik will add his own spin to the romantic action-drama ‘Shehzada’ . Kartik Aaryan plays the role of a wealthy man’s child who discovers his family’s fortune much later in life. The plot revolves around how he handles this reality and protects his family from the villains. It’ll be a fun family movie to watch.

Release Date: 10 February

3) Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar

This is the first time Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor will appear on screen together in ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,’ a romantic comedy film. It’s directed by Luv Ranjan, known for his romantic comedy films like Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety, we know it’ll be hilarious. Dimple Kapadia and Boney Kapoor complete the cast of this film. Shraddha is also making a long-awaited return to the big screen, and all of her fans have high hopes for this film.

Release Date: 8 March

4) Bholaa

Ajay Devgn and Tabu play pivotal roles in the film, which is also directed by Ajay Devgn himself and Dharmendra Sharma. The story’s protagonist is a former prisoner named Bhola, who has served ten years in prison and is about to return home to meet his daughter. However, he is detained in the middle, which complicates matters even more. It is a remake of the popular Tamil film ‘Kaithi’. I can already sense the action in this with Ajay’s solemn expression, which only serves to keep us waiting for more.

Release Date: 30 March

5) Bawaal

Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor star in this Nitesh Tiwari-directed drama. The movie was being made in Poland, the Netherlands, and even Lucknow. While the plot of the film has been shrouded in secrecy, we do know that it is a love story centred on characters from a small town. Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor will share screen time for the first time in ‘Bawaal’.

Release Date: 7 April

6) Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan

Who doesn’t love it when Bhai makes an appearance on the big screen? Salman Khan will continue the tradition of releasing his films on Eid which is right before Diwali. In the appropriately titled ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan,’ Salman plays a man whose siblings are attempting to marry him off. Pooja Hegde, Shehnaaz Gill, Venkatesh, Jassie Gill, Siddharth Nigam, Palak Tiwari, and Vijender Singh are among the top actors in the action comedy cast.

Release Date: 21 April

7) Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani

With ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’, Karan Johar directs a film after seven long years.  It will be intriguing to see what Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh do next after demonstrating their on-screen chemistry in “Gully Boy.” Renowned actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi also star in the film.

Release Date: 28 April

8) Jawan

SRK describes his second film of the year, as “an explosive entertainer.” which is directed by Atlee. This film is about to be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada across all of India. Nayanthara, will make her Bollywood debut with Jawan. So the reason to watch the movie is not only Shah Rukh Khan but also Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. It’s even reported that he would be playing a double role. But, let’s see only time will tell.

9) Adipurush

This year will see many collaborations between actors from Hindi and South Indian cinema. One such film is ‘Adipurush,’ starring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, and Kriti Sanon. After receiving harsh criticism, the film’s creators decided to delay ‘Adipurush’s release in order to improve its visual effects. The audience is excited to find out whether the outcome will be fantastic or awful. It is a Ramayana-inspired movie that demonstrates how good prevails over evil.

Release Date: 16 June

10) Satyaprem Ki Katha

In ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’, Kiara Advani will reunite with her ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ co-star Kartik Aaryan. The film is a romantic drama that also features Supriya Pathak and Gajraj Rao.

Release Date: 29 June
